Jeff and I took a trip to Chicago for Memorial Day. Along the way we passed a forest of wind turbines. These are in Indiana, about an hour and a half south of Chicago. Very interesting to see thousands of them dotting the extremely flat landscape.
Our favorite experience of the weekend was when we were just arriving in Chicago. Apparently the people in this truck were moving. It looks like they ran out of tie downs or something, and instead decided to use a string of LED christmas lights. Very resourceful. Jeff and I couldn't stop laughing for a good 5 minutes.
Ivory, Jeff and I rode the "L" all the way up to Wrigleyville and went to my first Cubs game (vs. St. Louis Cardinals). It was quite an adventure! If you've never been to Wrigley field, I'll quickly explain what it's like. Most cities have city hall or town hall at the center (or they did in 1800 and early 1900). The center of Wrigleyville is....wait for it...Wrigley field. If you ride the L into town, you walk about 300 yards from the platform to the stadium. Here's a picture from when we were there over Thanksgiving. Imagine these streets packed with THOUSANDS of people. It was crazy. And manuevering two wheelchairs through that traffic wasn't very easy.
Here's a few pics during the game. We had great seats on the Terrace in the accessible section. Right along the third base line.
